We have more than 300 students. We favour the schooling of girls as they are at greater risk of vulnerability, as they are forced to work in domestic chores instead of going to school and marriage at an early age. At Akshy we believe in them as a key element for change and sustainable progress.

Akshay Education Centre
Primary and Secondary Education
Akshay School was the first school we opened in the village of Amwan in 2006. Since 2012 the Akshay School is located in the building of the Akshay Educational Centre sharing the space with other activities of the NGO.
In the Akshay School we teach from Pre-nursery to the 8th grade (2nd ESO), and then we continue to guide them in the 9th and 10th grades (3rd and 4th ESO), taking care of the admission fees, tutoring and giving them reinforcement classes. With the 10th grade (4th of ESO) they complete their secondary education. We follow the curriculum of the State of Bihar and incorporate the plastic arts as well as the value of the relationship with the environment. We also give preference to English so that the children can communicate in English. In their education we also include a programme of ethical values (Universal Education) that marks the philosophy of our NGO and we take care that our students grow up with dignity.
We currently have 241 students, more than 50% of whom are girls, as we attach great importance to the education of girls.
Study support
Through this programme, students who need it, regardless of their level of education, receive private classes that help them to improve and consolidate their knowledge in different subjects and to be better prepared for their exams.
In addition, all our students receive pedagogical help and guidance for their present and future studies.
We also provide students with the strategies that will enable them to be autonomous in their learning and we try to create stimuli for their motivation.

We are committed to an education that promotes qualities and values. The ethical values we teach are: Responsibility, Humility, Contentment, Honesty, Kindness, Generosity, Correct Speech, Respect, Forgiveness, Gratitude, Principles, Aspiration, Altruism, and Courage.
The goal is to educate for a meaningful life. We want everyone to develop their potential to achieve happiness and personal excellence, and through these, contribute to the well-being of others, a better society, and a more harmonious world.
Every morning, we offer a meditation to help with concentration, being in the present moment, and finding calm throughout the day.
At Akshy, we believe that education is the foundation for the future and for everyday life. Therefore, we consider the values and attitudes promoted through Universal Education to be essential to bringing honesty to our project.

Environmental Education
Workshops and courses are held to teach the importance of respecting nature, raise awareness about pollution and how to prevent it, and provide information on how to conserve and use natural resources (water and electricity), among others. In addition, students take care of the centre and its surroundings to put into practice everything they learn in these activities and teach their families to respect and care for the environment.
Higher Education
We continue to support higher education beyond high school. We act as tutors throughout the entire process, providing support classes and guiding them through their studies. We advise them on preparing for pre-university and university exams and assist with all registration procedures.
